ASSEMBLAGE

BECAUSE I Am Still Seeing RED

BECAUSE I Am Still Seeing RED is my series of mural and assemblage artwork. All of us feel the weight of everything going on in the world. This series represents the transformation from my work feeding off intimate interaction and visual stimulus from beyond my immediate world into a state of introspection and unease derived from losing the ability to observe and interact with the world. Most of all, the work is my way to show lessons learned and express deep gratitude to all of the creatives that came along when I felt anguished, scared, lonely, tired or just had a bad day. They kept me connected; gave me and a sense of belonging and ~ always hope.

Their inspired and artistic remedies that repaired me. Deeply value and treasure new and already beautiful and meaningful connections I have managed to build with people I care for and ~ to always hope.

I started the street mural ENOUGH AND NOTHING on March 14 but stopped work when Chicago lockdown was announced. I felt strongly about the work and needed to make it so I installed large boards in my garden.

CONVERSATIONS WITH PIGEONS

In the grit, grittier, grittiest city, day or night, you will find her having conversations with pigeons.

She carries them on her back ~ they come and go with messages ~ or they shout out loud from the rooftops. In dark glittering alleyways, you will find them gathered in circles, with cages on their backs, gathered to chant

of givingness and forgivingness.
